What is the difference between a static and a dynamic QR code?

This tool generates static QR codes — the data is encoded directly inside the pattern. Static codes work forever and never expire. Dynamic QR codes (which require a paid service) encode a short URL that redirects, allowing you to change the destination later.

Which error correction level should I choose?

Level M (15% recovery) is the default and works well for screen and print. Use H (30%) if the code will be partially obscured, dirty, or printed on a curved surface. L (7%) is the most compact and best for very long URLs.

What makes a good QR code?

A reliable QR code balances data density against error correction. The more characters you encode, the more modules (the small black squares) the code needs. The error correction level determines how much of the code can be obscured or damaged before scanning fails — higher correction means bigger codes but more resilience. For print at small sizes or on curved surfaces, we recommend level Q or H. For digital displays of short URLs, level M is plenty.
